“We are proud” – Luxury watchmaker Rolex praises Iga Swiatek for her rise

Iga Swiatek has undoubtedly been the most impressive player of 2022 so far. The newly placed world No. 1 has won three consecutive WTA 1000 titles and is currently on a 17-0 winning streak. She first won the Qatar Open, followed by a title at Indian Wells, and the last at come to Miami. However, winning the titles had a lot more in the bag for Iga rather than just the trophy and prize money. Winning back-to-back, Swiatek wrote her name in the history books by becoming the first player to win the first 3 WTA 1000 events in the same year.

After her victory over Naomi Osaka to win the Miami Open, Rolex, a major sponsor of Iga, praised the Polish sensation.

Rolex praises Swiatek

Iga Swiatek won her first Grand Slam title in October 2020 at Roland Garros. Witnessing her majestic performance, the luxury watch company Rolex, in February 2021, chose to rope Iga Swiatek as its brand ambassador. Rolex, along with Iga, took to their social media handles, announcing the partnership.

Recently, after her title in Miami, Rolex took to her Twitter, uploading a tweet. In the tweet, the 114-year-old watch company praised 20-year-old Swiatek, comparing his current performance to that of Roland Garros 2020. The tweet read, With three WTA 1000 titles so far this year and an impressive rise to the world No. 1 ranking, Iga Swiatek continues to build on the undeniable talent she has shown as a champion at Roland Garros in 2020. We are proud to witness your flourishing career.

Iga Swiatek’s phenomenal run in 2022

Iga Swiatek has had an amazing run in 2022. She kicked off her season at Adelaide International 1, suffering a semi-final loss to Ashleigh Barty. Going forward, she had a similar result at the Australian Open, suffering a semi-final loss to Danielle Collins. Then, playing at the Dubai Open, she faced a dip in her performance, facing a second-round exit. However, the best was yet to come.

Learning from her defeat, Swiatek entered the Qatar Open as a strong player. Going into the tournament as the seventh seed, Swiatek received a first-round bye. Starting her tournament campaign from the second round, she showed no mercy as she crushed her opponents and won the title. A replica of his performance in Qatar was seen in Indian Wells and Miami.
