Roger Federer wore the most exclusive Rolex watch at Wimbledon

Roger Federer has been out of action since Wimbledon last year after injuring his knee and opting to undergo surgery. However, the record eight-time Wimbledon champion has returned to the All England Club in London to celebrate Center Court’s 100th anniversary. Joining Federer was a star-studded lineup of tennis legends past and present, including Billie Jean King, Andy Murray, Margaret Court, Venus Williams, Martina Hingis, Bjorn Borg and Rod Laver. While everyone was excited to see the 40-year-old tennis legend return to center court, we noticed a special watch on Federer’s wrist that quickly caught our eye. The Swiss tennis legend has been a Rolex brand ambassador since 2006 and is often spotted wearing some of the rarest and most exclusive models. The one Roger had on his wrist during the recent event is even more exceptional. This is a brand new off-catalog Rolex Cosmograph Daytona ‘Orange’.

The eye-catching jewelry version of the coveted Rolex chronograph features an 18k yellow gold case encrusted with 32 baguette-cut orange sapphires on the bezel. Unlike the Rolex Daytona Orange Sapphires Ref. 116578SACO which has a mother-of-pearl dial set with diamonds, this version has a black dial with 11 baguette-cut orange sapphire hour markers. In addition, the watch is paired with an Oysterflex bracelet. Being a non-catalog piece, the particular model is not officially listed anywhere on the Rolex website, nor displayed in boutiques. For the same reason, it also has no official price. But the exclusive Rolex is said to be worth around $87,000. The watch is exclusively available to Rolex’s most important customers and brand ambassadors.
