Old Town Philadelphia groom had his Rolex watch stolen near South 3rd Street

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) – Philadelphia police are looking for several suspects who robbed a groom in the city’s Old Town neighborhood.

It happened around 11:30 p.m. Saturday as the groom walked to the National Mechanics restaurant on South 3rd Street.

Police say the victim was taking to the air during his wedding reception when his Rolex watch was stolen by two armed men.

The suspects were able to flee after the theft.

The men were described as dressed in black and allegedly fled in a dark colored vehicle.

The groom was not injured in the incident.

Police are also investigating eight armed robberies that have taken place in the city center in recent weeks, but investigators did not say whether the Old Town incident was linked.
