A Rolex watch and Louis Vuitton bag were stolen and a man in his sixties was injured in a “ruthless” robbery in a leafy suburb.
The theft took place Monday evening on East Downs Road in Bowdon, Trafford.
Police arrested a 27-year-old man on suspicion of theft. He remains in detention for questioning.

Officers said “several high value items” including the Rolex and Louis Vuitton bag were stolen.
A man in his 60s was slightly injured and was treated on the spot.

The police are calling for help to find a black Peugeot 208 that was allegedly used by the offenders.
They say he rushed to Hale.
Anyone with dashcam footage is invited to come forward.
Detective Inspector Matt Gregory, of GMP’s Trafford District, said: “This was a ruthless attack on two innocent victims.
“An investigation is underway into the circumstances of the robbery.
“We would specifically like to speak with any witnesses who may have seen the black Peugeot 208 used by the offenders in the theft.
“After the offense, the car – displaying a ’20’ license plate – was seen driving at full speed on South Downs Road at approximately 5.35pm on Monday August 2, 2021.
“The car then drove to Park Road, Hale, where it changed the temporary traffic lights to red, toward Arthog Road.
“Anyone with information or dashcam footage is urged to call the police on 0161 856 7573 citing newspaper 2334 for 08/02/21.”
