It’s a piece of cake ? is a delicious new competition series for Netflix, which is based on the internet trend of creating scary and realistic baked goods! In it, we will see talented bakers compete for a chance to win a cash prize that will go to the top 3 bakers.

The series is hosted by saturday night livefrom Mikey Day, who shared a first look at the show on his Instagram page and wrote, “Over the summer I’ve been working with the amazing people behind Nailed it! and was introduced to the crazy world of creating hyper-realistic cakes and the mad geniuses who bake them.

“The result is a super fun show that doesn’t take itself too seriously yet has heart and a really compelling premise. I assure you, you’ll look at a shoe and say: There’s no way this shoe is a cake, and then it’s cut in half and it’s cake and you’ll question everything you know about reality.”

The new competition series hits Netflix on Friday, March 18, and it looks like the perfect lightweight watch to make your weekend easier!

How it works?

It’s a piece of cake ? sees talented bakers tasked with creating a cake that looks like an everyday object like a shoe, beach ball, or cash register, and then they have to trick a panel of celebrities into thinking it’s the real thing and not a super realistic cake.

Contestants will have to make their pastries as realistic as possible in order to fool the panel, before Mikey cuts each one to reveal which are the cakes and which are the real objects!

The bakers in this series are Andrew Fuller, April Julian, Dessiree Salaverria, Hemu Basu, Jonny Manganello, Justin Rasmussen-Ellen, Nina Charles, Sam Cade, and Steve Weiss.

You can watch the trailer for It’s a piece of cake ? below which shows some of the incredible creations that contestants are preparing in an attempt to fool everyone and win lots of money.

There are eight episodes in total, but the trailer shows some great highlights of what to expect, including some thoughts from some of the contestants about their skills, careers, and time on the show.

Baker Jonny Manganello said, “What I’m doing is the weirdest thing in the world. Like, there’s people saving lives and I’m making the cake look like other things!”
